BIG wins charity football match vs rivals Becker
In the last two years, the Brain Inflammation Group have set up a 5-a-side football team. The team play every Wednesday evening, with new players always welcome! The team comprises a mix of all abilities, from football newbies to the pros.
More recently, a very competitive 5-a-side tournament was held on University grounds! A face-ff between the BIG football team and the Lydia Becker Institute, more commonly known as ‘the Becker’. The tournament consisted of 4 teams vying for the glory of being crowned the first winners of the inflammation 5-a-side tournament!
PhD student Grace becomes Trustee of NF2 BioSolutions UK & Europe
Grace Gregory recently accepted an invitation to join the Board of Trustees at the NF2 BioSolutions UK & Europe, a charity that funds vital research into the rare disease NF2-related schwannomatosis (NF2). As a Trustee she will actively contribute to the organisation's goals by participating in board meetings, shaping policies, and recognising prospective donors while using her expertise to identify advantageous research opportunities and advocate for people with NF2.
